Amber has been a foster care support worker for Crossroads since October 2020. She graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2004, and worked for the government in Family Justice Services as a Family Court Counsellor for 8 years, helping families resolve custody, access and guardianship matters. After her first child was born Amber decided to stay home, and now has two sweet children, 6 and 8 years old with her husband of 15 years.
Amber is a calm and understanding listener, and a skilled advocate for families and children. She loves being able to help children, and the families they are in, thrive in any way possible. One of the things she likes best about her work at Crossroads is being able to spend time to get to know the children and families on her caseload better.
Amber enjoys living west of Edmonton on an acreage, and feels like it’s a bit of self-care every time she drives home. When she is not working she loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys gardening, anything outside, and taking her children snowboarding in the winter
