Martha Quist

Admin Assistant for Kinnections Community Wellness

Martha came on board with Crossroads in 2019. She received her Child and Youth Worker diploma in 2004 and has been caring for children ever since. Before coming to Crossroads, she worked as a Special Needs Teacher Assistant and as a day home educator and consultant. Martha described herself as having a passion for working with children and their families. Martha is our first contact with new families interested in accessing our services, and she coordinates the program’s weekly interviews and hiring processes with new respite worker applicants. Martha’s calm and organized approach to her tasks has been an excellent fit with our busy Kinnections program. Martha noted that her particular passions in her life are her faith, her family, and helping others. She described herself as a person who likes to stay focused on reaching her goals regardless of their size. She believes that “time” is the most valuable gift we can give and that we must offer it to others to truly change someone’s day, and she strives to appreciate each day to the max because tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Extras:

  • Martha loves horses and spent a year as a member of the Edmonton Sheriff’s Posse, an organization that rides in local parades and contributes to the community.
  • Martha has three children of her own – she said she keeps them off ‘screen time’ by keeping them busy with creative activities and community involvement.
